Pilates Foundation

Pilates is a body conditioning routine, developed by Joseph Pilates that helps to build flexibility, muscle strength and endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms, hips and back. It puts emphasis on spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing and developing a strong core or centre, and improving co-ordination and balance.

No matter your age, your fitness level or your gender, Pilates is such a powerful tool to keep your spine healthy, improve your posture and build strength in your deep intrinsic muscles that support your spine.

With both Amanda and Vanessa being Licentiate members of the Royal Academy of Dance they have always appreciated the benefits that Pilates training brings not only to dancers but also to people who are simply looking to improve their physical well-being and it was a natural progression for Amanda and Vanessa to branch out into Pilates and train to become instructors in this field themselves, both now having an Active IQ Level 3 in Instructing Pilates Matwork. Having started teaching the Fundamentals of Mat based Pilates to adults in 2011, from just one class a week, the classes have now progressed to 7 classes a week, with outstanding results and many loyal clients, who are now training at an advanced level.

 In January 2015, Pilates Foundation was launched to give our successful Pilates classes an identity of their own and highlight the work we do with adults in the community, helping many to overcome injuries, maintain an existing trauma or simply help improve their everyday life.

Our classes are carefully planned to be progressive and are clearly instructed and demonstrated.  
We pride ourselves on getting to know our members and understand that people's needs are different, so we offer modifications and challenges to movements to ensure that each member benefits from their class experience each week.

Our classes are suited to all abilities. Being very accomplished in Pilates training, we are able to treat each participant individually and tailor each exercise to suit their ability and work everyone at a pace to suit their individual needs. All classes are held in our own, modern, purpose-built studios. We thoroughly enjoy teaching these classes and would like to thank all our clients for the support they have given us.  Our clients are proof that Pilates, when done correctly, really does give major fitness benefits. Since government restrictions were put in place we continue to feel that it is better for each client to bring their own mat to use.

£8.00 per class for one class per week 
£7.50 per class for two classes per week 
Classes are booked in blocks of 10 weeks.  Sorry, but due to the nature of our booking system we are not able to offer trial lessons
